Little Free Pantry

It’s hard to put food on the table sometimes—whether you’ve lost your job, had a relationship change, or just fallen short because of circumstances outside of your control (like a pandemic and the havoc it brings with it).

At Salem, we believe that no family should go hungry in our community. Instead of a food bank with limited hours and paperwork to fill out, we have a Little Free Pantry on our porch. Anyone in need—at any hour of the day or night—can come and take what they need for that day. Anyone who has something to give—whether regularly or just once—can drop off non-perishable food or personal care products.

You don’t need to be a member of Salem to participate in this ministry—if God is touching your heart, grab an extra bag of non-perishables from the store or from your own shelves. Someone who is hungry will be grateful.

We’re also active in supporting other hunger ministries in our community and throughout the world through the ministry of ELCA World Hunger, one of the country’s largest hunger ministries.
